摘要

Novel electrooptic optical frequency shifters I carrier-suppressed SSB modulators are proposed by using periodically domain-inverted structure and guided-wave 3-branch interferometers. Adopting the periodically domain-inverted structure to traveling-wave electrooptic modulators, the modulation phase is controllable by shifting domain-inversion patterns along a light propagation direction. By using this interesting feature, it is possible to construct high-speed electrooptic optical frequency shifters with a single electrode structure. The operation principle and the design of the propose device are presented with the fabrications of the guided-wave 3-branch interferometers.
