摘要

A study was made of the effect of sucrose transport from higher plant leaves on the width of delayed luminescence induction curves. Sucrose efflux from a leaf was inhibited by cooling its petiole. In leaves kept in the light during the first 2 h of this treatment, the curve width decreased. The data suggest that enhanced CO_2 fixation observed when the treated leaves are illuminated after being dark-adapted is accounted for by sucrose accumulation in their conducting tissues.
