Wear resistance of plasma sputtered coatings from diffused alloyed ion-based self-fluxing powders has been studied because they represent a new type of materials used for gas thermal sputtering. The wear resistance of these coatings has been compared with the coatings from a nickel-based powder composition during friction with and without lubrication.
