摘要

We propose a new type of optical probe designed to detect electromagnetic near-fields with high accuracy up to the gigahertz region. The probe consists of a loop antenna element and two bulk electro-optic crystals, and uses a laser beam for signal transmission. It optically realizes the operation of a conventional double-loaded loop probe and requires no metallic cable and balun. We examined the probe characteristics for magnetic field detection up to 10 GHz and confirmed that it can detect a magnetic field near a microstrip line with little disturbance from the coexisting electric field.
