The Chinese battery is still a credit to the nation, according to the latest industry analysis. While there has been considerable upheaval in the last year, lead-acid and lithium-ion production are both growing at double digit rate. A study produced by the Chinese Industrial Association of Power Sources shows that Lithium-ion cell production increased by 10% in 2012 compared to 2011, with 2.5 billion cells being manufactured, while lead-acid output increased by 12% year on year to 161MW in total capacity.
