On the calibration of dustmeter under the Law for Maintenance of Sanitation in Buildings

In the buildings regulated by the Law, the air quality should be controlled and monitored by these owners. The check items of air quality are suspended particles, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide temperature, relative humidity, and airflow. There are two ways to measure the suspended particles, that is, gravimetric method and dustmeter. It is easy to measure the suspended particles by using the dustmeter rather than gravimetric method. However, mandatory calibration of the dustmeter is required once a year. Any institution designated by the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare should conduct the calibration. Building Management Education Center has been conducting the calibration as one designated institution.
