An investigation on a concealment technique for the packet loss in VoIP using steganography

Recently, speech communications using VoIP (Voice over IP) is significantly paid attention. Since the VoIP employs the best-effort type IP networks that are not appropriate for real-time communications, the speech quality of the VoIP is potentially degraded by the packet loss and delay. For the concealment of such errors, this study proposes a hybrid method of both sender-based and receiver based error concealment techniques. A steganographic technique is employed for the transmission of the side information required by the proposed method.
