摘要

TCP, which is widely used in terrestrial networks, is also expected to be exploited as a protocol for high-speed transfer of stored data on a geo-synchronous satellite communication link. However, even if transfer speed increases on a geo-synchronous satellite link, throughput corresponding to the speed can not be obtained. This paper considers on introducing improvements for conventional TCP such as Window Scaling Option and SACK Option and changing their parameters, and presents the results of measured throughputs of TCP data transfer in an environment simulating a geo-synchronous satellite communication link. In addition, this paper introduces a program to implement reliable data transfer in a higher layer using UDP and shows results of measured throughputs in the same environment and comparison with TCP.
