摘要

This paper investigates the performance of an amplitude and phase shift keying (APSK) receiver with non-linear distortion compensation for satellite communication systems. There is a demand for making use of spectrum efficient modulation schemes such as APSK and QAM (Quadrature Amplitude Modulation) for satellite communication systems in order to establish broadband digital communications in a limited bandwidth. However, the non-linear distortion due to HPA (High Power Amplifier) drastically degrades the bit error rate performance and makes it difficult to use the spectrum efficient modulation schemes. This paper focuses on a receiver-side nonlinear distortion compensator. Computer simulation is carried out to show the bit error rate improvement by making efficient use of the compensator.
