Software process improvement method using knowledge management tool

摘要

This paper first discusses the software process assessment (SPA)-based software process improvement (SPI). Next, software process improvement method using knowledge management (KM) tool is described. Some kinds of SPA frameworks, like the Capability Maturity Model (CMM) or ISO/IEC TR 15504, is known as effective frameworks for software productivity and software quality. However, the SPA just indicates 'what' processes should be improved, they do not indicate 'how to' improve them. In this paper, I describe the KM tool that helps for the assessed project to know 'how to' improve software process by clearly defining QC based method.
