We were grateful to read an interesting article by Uysal et al,' evaluating the association of neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR) with coronary collateral circulation (CCC) in a total of 521 consecutive patients with stable coronary artery disease (CAD). They have found that increased NLR (odds ratio [OR]: 0.70, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.62-0.80; P < .01) and fasting plasma glucose (OR: 0.995, 95% CI: 0.991-0.999) levels were independent predictors of CCC in multivariate regression analysis. Additionally, NLR level of >2.75 to predict poor CCC has 65% sensitivity and 68% specificity (area under the curve: 0.714, 95% CI: 0.66-0.75).
