摘要

In mountainous country like Japan, sand-and-stone avalanches caused by torrential or prolonged rainfall often result in a heavy damage to people and residents in surrounding area. A warning system which can collect data from a wide area is essential in order to effectively forecast disasters. However, due to high mountains and deep forests, data transmission is limited. In this study, we propose a rainfall monitoring system utilizing 420MHz band. A new LoRa mode of 420MHz can transfer up to 4.7km no line-of-sight distance experimentally, thus enables a low cost sensor system to observe rainfall and sand-and-stone avalanche.
