摘要

At tandem cold rolling mills in Kawasaki Steel, by means ofapplying newly developed strip longitudinal (rolling) and transverse gaugecontrol systems, high accuracy of thickness of within +-0.5% has been achievedover the full length and hill width of cold rolled strip, as gauge accuracy in a coilin longitudinal and transverse directions has become an extremely importantquality control item in the manufacturing of cold rolled sheets due to the stricterquality require of customers, in recent years. The longitudinal gauge accuracy hasbeen improved by the development of a high-response drive system for a millmair motor, an all-stands gauge control system and a dynamic set-up controlsystem. The transverse gauge accuracy has been improved by applying a one-sidetapered work roll shifting method and the develop of an edge drop control systemin terms of the optimum use of an edge drop sensor.
