SYSTEMATICS OF 2,--, 7-MINERALS SERIES

摘要

The problem of ordering and nomenclature of mineral series is reduced to the same one for the corresponding graphs: their vertices mean mineral species and edges-mineral series, if such ones exist among those species. It is shown that all of 2-, …, 7-mineral series (1251 configurations in the whole) could be distinguished from the point of interrelations of their complete (ideal) subseries. For an example, the garnet series is considered in detail. An appropriate taxonomy allows to arrange the mineral series in order of their complexity. Various transformations of the graphs lead to another one order relation within the mineral series multitude The whole their multiformity is defined as a structure with, basically, evolutionary character.
