摘要

We carried out experimental study of local strains in specimens with various notches under cyclic monotonic loading conditions. Small-base strain gauges were used to measure strains in the notch. Based on experimental results obtained for smooth specimens we constructed cyclic deformation curve for steel and' two aluminum alloys. Total strain amplitudes calculated by well-known approximate techniques were compared with the experimental data. The best data fit is obtained in case of the Neuber formula with Makhutov's correction function. We recommend to use this function for calculation of local strain amplitudes under loads corresponding to the low-cycle-to-high-cycle fatigue transition region and high-cycle fatigue region.
