摘要

Study of 9.46GHz FEL by the JLA Induction Linacs (JAERI Large current Accelerator: ~2.5MeV, ~3kA, 160ns) are undergoing now. In order to perform the output power of more than a few 100 MW by employing the beam current of 1kA, the 9.46 GHz focusing wiggler with an oversized waveguide of 129.54×64.77mm is developed. By the 3D-FEL simulation code, it found that TE{sub}11, TE{sub}21 and TE{sub}51 mode excepting the designed mode of TE01 are amplified, the growth rate of TE{sub}21 mode is about 20 times higher than that of TE{sub}(01) mode. This paper describes the rf properties of 9.4GH FEL using an oversized waveguide.
