摘要

We had an expression of sound absorption in nonelectrolyte aqueous solutions in terms of relaxation times, of which expression was obtained from the diffusion equation of concentration fluctuations by using of the fluctuation dispersion theorem by Kubo. Our expression of sound absorption with 4-adjustable parameters was applicable for the mixtures of 1-propanol, t-butanol, and monobutyl triethylene glycol with water, and it was found that our model is best, compared with other models. The properties of hydrophobic and hydrophilic solutes in liquid water were explained from the types of distribution function of relaxation times.
