摘要

In this paper, an analytical solution for an infinite strip having a circular hole is given when the strip is subjected to a pair of side pressures. A solution which is based on Papcovich-Neuber displacement potentials is deduced by combining harmonic potentials in an integral form and in finite series. The boundary conditions on both sides of the strip and around the hole are completely satisfied with the aid of the relations between the Cartesian and cylindrical harmonics. The solution is shown in a graph and the effect of the hole on the stress distribution are clarified.
