摘要

The developed technology can reliably produce sharp and deep features on extruded housing exterior materials with high positional accuracy in repetitive patterns. With the developing trend of emphasizing the external appearance of housing buildings, deep and clearly defined features are in increasing demand for building exterior materials, in turn requiting a higher level of forming technology. The roll-forming process used for producing conventional protruded exterior materials was impeded from producing deep and sharp features due to the deformations caused by the rotating emboss roll during detachment from the material surface. In addition, due to problems with perfectly synchronizing extrusion speed and roll revolution speed, it was difficult to produce repeated, equidistant patterns. The developed forming technology features a pressing operation while vibration is applied to the material to provide better fluidity, thereby achieving the following advantages: (1) deep three-dimensional patterns can be formed without being affected by the direction of extrusion, (2) the process can be applied to features requiring a highly accurate repeat distance, and (3) low-pressure press-forming can be applied to hollow components.
