摘要

It is one of the questions to think of crop domestication that how humans contribute to maintain and enhance biodiversity in agroecosystem. There were various approaches to agro-biodiversity from various fields of study so far such as Genetics, Archaeology, Geography and Ethnobotany. Especially, the relationship between human recognition and agro-biodiversity has been focused from Ethnobotany. The mechanism of maintenance and enhancement of genetic diversity is explained as production of novel variation, and natural or artificial selection of variation. Artificial selection is divided into two; one is conscious (intentional) selection seen inactivities of buying or exchange, and the other is unconscious (unintentional) selection seen in cultural practices or religious rituals.
