摘要

A history of electron-microscopy developmentin the Institute for Metal Physics of the National Academy ofSciences of the Ukraine I considered, and the possibilities ofanalytical methods in modern electron microscopy areanalysed. The distribution of carbon and nitrogen in a hostcrystal and at the grain boundaries in alloyed austenite isstudied by the Energetic Dispersive X-Ray Spectroscopy(EDS) and Electron Energy Loss Spectroscopy (EELS)methods. It is shown that carbon has a different segregationproperties depending on the austenite substitutional-elments'composition, whilst the nitrogen is randomly distributed inaustenite. Established differences in distribution of theseinterstitial elements are connected with some differences inthe electronic structure of solid solution.
