A new concept of calculating the extreme state of the structure elements with cracks - the method of real elements (MeReEl) -is developed. According to MeReEl the damaged zone of the element with crack is substituted with the equivalent rod system. The stress-strain diagrams for damaged and intact rods of the system are determined from the experiment. Numerical simulation of the system deformation is carried out before breaking of one of the rods. This state is considered extreme. Two calculation procedures, namely rod system deformation resulting in the desired loads (mild loading) and hard deformation to the critical state are considered.
