Micromorphometric types of the pore space in virgin and plowed loamy soils.

摘要

Several types of the pore space in loamy soils have been identified using computer-based image analysis of fine macropores in thin sections. The distribution of these types of the pore space in virgin and plowed podzolic, soddy podzolic, grey forest, and chernozemic soils of the European part of Russia and the south of Ukraine has been studied. Pedogenic, lithogenic, and transitional classes of the pore space are distinguished. Characteristic features of the pore space of all agrogenic soils, including those with a degraded structure of the plow layer, are revealed.
