Cold forging has been used in the construction ofcomplicated figures in recent years. When forming complicatedfigures, it is probable that more than six processes are needed tocomplete a product when forming is executed using the rule ofone forming per process. However, the reality is that more than80 percent of forging machines are only five-process machines.Thus, combination forming for one process is needed for coldforging. Therefore, as an extension of the prior system, wedeveloped a system that was capable of treatment usingcombination forming for one process. This system generates aprocess design based on a five-process database is constructedusing a design that met our needs. As a result, even designerswho are relatively inexperienced can quickly and easily carryout process designs for complex products under control usingour system. This paper describes the inference method withrespect to combination forming and the framework of theintelligent CAD system developed by this research.
