Pollution-free polyacrylates - a binder for iron casting molding sands

The article discusses the investigations carried out far the purpose of using domestic polyacrylates (palyacrylic acid for polycomplexes TU 6-01-260-81, sodium palyacrylate with pH 5) as a pollution-free binder in molding and core sands with heat drying. Sodium palyacrylate allows producing a sand with process-related advantages of resin-bonded sands with no harmful emissions during molding and mold pouring, and reducing the drying cycle by 2-3 times with lowering the drying temperature to 140±10℃ at the same time. The developed molding sand can be used in casting iron and aluminum alloys in dry sand molds.
