Proposal of a model for unstable ductile fracture in gas pipelines

摘要

Empirical formulas were presented by Battelle researchers and Akiyama on the propagation condition of the unstable ductile fracture in gas pipelines. In consideration for kinetics of bulge formation near the propagating crack tip, the present paper proposes a simple model which is qualitatively consistent with the empirical formulas.
