Practical application of advanced materials to USC boiler and PFBC boiler

摘要

The design of USC thermal power plants has greatly improved recently. Such improvements will belargely sustained by the technology of material development and application. Various types ofmodified 9Cr-1Mo steels have been used in the main pressure components of the 593℃ temperatureunit. In USC units with a turbine throttle steam temperature of more than 593℃, the application ofadvanced ferritic steels such as the new type of 9 to 12Cr steels is essential to reduce the tube or pipewall thickness and material costs. In the design of USC boilers, material costs are evaluated as well asmaterial reliability and longevity. The items to be considered for application of the new materials andrecent experiences of practical application are summarized.
