On the nature of shale gas and the efficiency of its search

The article deals with the nature and peculiarities of finding the shale gas in sedimentary rocks. It is emphasized that those favorable for finding the shale gas are not only black shale formations rich in organic matter, but thick carbonate-clay shale strata with low content of organic matter. Meta-saturation of shale strata depends on the degree of their fissuring and intensity of deep degassing fluxes associated with deep tectonic faults and their intersection.
