摘要

A modified finite-element method for calculating the electrodynamic characteristics of helical slow-wave systems is proposed, which enables one to take into account the real configurations of dielectric supports and metal screens. The error of calculated dispersion characteristics of super-broadband devices as compared with the most reliable experimental data is within 3% (in a frequency band of two octaves and more); moreover, the sign of the error remains he same in the entire frequency band.
