Synchronous phenomena of chaotic spiking oscillators

This paper reports synchronous phenomena in a chaotic spiking oscillator (CSO) with a periodic pulse-train input. The CSO has two continuous state variables and exhibits various synchronous phenomena to the periodic pulse-train input. We classify the synchronous phenomena using the Lyapunov exponent and firing rate based on a 1-dimensional return map. Constructing a simple implementation circuit, we verify typical phenomena in the laboratory.
