ebXML initiative is an international standardization committee to develop a technical framework that enables XML to be utilized in a consistent manner for the exchange of all electronic business data. ebXML initiative was initiated by the United Nations body for Trade Facilitation and Electronic Business (UN/CEFACT) and the Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards (OASIS). ebXML will allow us to find new business partners easily on the Internet for electronic business. In this paper, I describe the outline of ebXML initiative and report about the fifth conference in Tokyo in November 2000.
