Flora of watercourses in the Upper Volga region.

The flora of 110 watercourses of the Upper Volga region was investigated. The flora included 241 species of vascular plants from 107 genera and 52 families, including 27 species of Poaceae. An analysis of systematics, of the ecological and geographical structure of the flora, and of floras of different types of watercourses was made. The flora was characterized by higher species diversity, larger average number of species in families and genera, wider zonal geographical representation of species and by a higher prevalence of hybrid forms (generally of Potamogeton) than the flora of static water bodies of the same territory.
