Domestic prices to drop

In March, mills. domestic prices for HR products have jumped by 14- 15% on the back of high export quotations. The domestic price setting still largely depends on the situation in export markets. In the first half of March, HR coil prices slid by $60-70/t to $750-760/t FOB Black Sea due to weaker demand from consumers in export markets. Thus, FOB quotations are 7-9% below the domestic ones. Considering strong interconnection between the domestic and global markets, Metal Expert believes Russian producers will have to slash the domestic prices in April.
