Flats prices to increase

Producers raised offer prices for Kazakhstan due to increased productioncosts and short supply.In March, steelmakers not only raised prices but also cut output citing highcapacity utilization or some technical problems. Bad weather restrainedraw materials supply, so ArcelorMittal Temirtau did not accept orders fromtraders for March production of HR and CR flats. As a result, domesticmarket saw a shortage of HR sheet. Taking advantage of this situation,ArcelorMittal Temirtau announced a $54-60/t rise in domestic prices foruncoated flats, April production. Having solved all production problems,the mill will fulfil most domestic orders in April-May.
