摘要

The thermoregulation of human body has been widely studied experimentally and theoretically under normal environmental and physiological conditions. But during physical exercise the thermoregulatory functions are more critical for survival and maintenance of physical work. In view of above an attempt has been made in this paper to develop a numerical model to study temperature distribution in human peripheral regions during and after exercise. The mathematical model incorporates all the important parameters like blood mass flow rate, thermal conductivity and metabolic heat generation. Appropriate boundary conditions have been framed. The finite differences method is employed to find the solution. The results have been obtained for a one dimensional unsteady state case. The temperature distribution is studied for two cases, (i) the subject was initially performing exercises and stops during exercise, and (ii) the subject does the exercise periodically.
