Since Roman times, the marshes of the southern shore of the Wash on the East coast of England have steadily surrendered to the entrepreneurial energy of the inhabitants of that area. Today, the fields between the coast road and the sea banks contain some of the most fertile land in the country, if not the world. Over the two decades spanning the turn of the century, A. H. Worth established a substantial farming business in South Lincolnshire. He was able to provide land for all of his five children,and that currently farmed by A. H. Worth and Company (just under 2000 acres) was allocated to his second son, G. A. (Dick) Worth. The enterprise is entirely owned by his descendants. The company itself was incorporated in 1948.
