Computation of pressures on Texas Tech University building using large eddy simulation

摘要

An implicit solution procedure to solve the Navier-Stokes equations using large eddy simulation (LES) for flow around building is presented. Using this model the pressures around the Texas Tech University (TTU) building are computed using different inflow turbulence conditions and compared with available field mean and peak pressure coefficients. The turbulence is generated by keeping periodic boundary conditions, by using Gaussian distribution and random number generator and actual TTU field wind data. The computed mean pressures are in good agreement with field measurement. The peak pressures computed using Gaussian distribution are much higher than the field measurement. The peak pressures using the TTU wind data are much closer to the field measurements than with the three methods.
