Improvement of Magnesia-Spinel Brick for Refining Ladle

Both bench and field tests of the present study demonstrated that Cr_2O_3 addition to magnesia-spinel brick could improve the service life of the brick as a result of the suppression of slag penetration, which characterizes magnesia chrome brick. Since our ultimate goal is to develop a chrome-free material, we are planning to continue our exploration of additives other than Cr_2O_3 for further improving the service life of magnesia-spinel bricks.
