A MICROGAP SURGE ABSORBER FABRICATED USING CONVENTIONAL SEMICONDUCTOR TECHNOLOGY

A now type microgap surge absorber fabricated by onlysemiconductor technique has in it a spe- cial structure silicon chipwhich forms microgaps for gas discharge with electrodes, and hasadvantages such as small size, low cost, suitability for massproduction besides the desirable characteristics that common microgapsurgee absorbers have. Applications of this absorber in communicationfacilities are discussed.
