Outokumpu announces good results in a turbulent year

Outokumpu's total group sales increased to 6.91 billion euros (10.2 billion dollars) in 2007, compared to 6.15 billion euros in 2006, the company has announced. Pointing to "good results in a turbulent year" the stainless steel producer posted 2007 operating profit of 589 million euros "in very volatile stainless steel markets" and an underlying operational result of 800 million euros, a significant improvement on the 650 million euros achieved in 2006.
