Living with psoriasis: a patient case study

摘要

Psoriasis is a hereditary disorder of the skin affecting 1.5-2% of the population in western countries. There are many types of pustular and non-pustular psoriasis, the most common being non-pustular, guttate or plaque psoriasis vulgaris. Psoriasis has several clinical expressions and appears as chronic, red patches known as satellites, recurring silvery-white scales, papules and plaques which can be of mild to severe distribution and have either a minor or major impact on a patient's life. The most common areas of the body that are affected include the scalp, elbows and knees. The principal abnormality in psoriasis is an alteration of the cell kinetics.
