摘要

The colour of the image displayed on one or on many monitors will vary. This is because the RGB (Red, Green, Blue) output of every monitor is different and changes over time. Such variations can be overcome through the simple process of monitor calibration, using a colour measuring instrument and software. The five-minute process, carried out ideally once a month, entails placing a calibration instrument on the monitor and launching software that displays a series of known colours on to the screen. These are automatically measured and saved in the form of an ICC monitor profile. The computer operating system uses this new profile to display colours correctly.
