Gastrointestinal helminths of wild sheep (Ovis ammon orientalis) from Kabodan island National Park of Urmia lake of Iran

摘要

A total of 50 wild sheep (Ovis ammon orientalis) from Kabodan island National Park of Urmia lake (North-west of Iran) were examined for gastrointestinal helminths. Thirteen species of helminths comprising of twelve nematodes and one cestode were identified. The nematode parasites, Trichuris infundibulus, T. georgicus, T. vondwei, Ostertagia ostertagi and O. lyrata have been reported for the first time from wild sheep from Iran.
