Influence of media type, temperature and pH of media were investigated with Chhattisgarh isolate of nematode trapping fungi, Arthrobotrys oligospora and Duddingtonia flagrans. In corn meal agar, full radial growth was achieved for A. oligospora on day6 after plating and for D. flagrans it was on day 7. Next medium of choice was nutrient agar where both the fungi obtained considerable growth. Poor growth and scattered radial growth for both A. oligospora and D. flagrans were observed in Sabouraud glucose agar, potato dextrose agar and water agar, respectively. Though significant growth of both the fungi was recorded between 18-34 deg C, the optimum temperature observed for their growth was 26 deg C. Optimal pH required for growth of both the specieswas 6 and further acidic pH (4 and 5) adversely affected then- in vitro growth.
