Coal from the Ul'yanov pit is classified as grade GZh; it has low ash (A d = 11.5 percent) and a high yield of the concentrate fraction (86.9 percent) with a separation density of 1400 kg/m~3; the sintering index in accordance with the plastic layer thickness y = 18-20 mm was at the level for coal from the Polosukha pit as previously dressed at the central dressing plant of this company. Introducing the Ul'yanov coal instead of Polosukha provided an additional amount of coal concentrate. Coal from the Tomusino 5-6 pit is classified as grade KO; it is extracted from the same strata (III and IV-V) as the coal from the Tomsk pit; it has stable sintering index (y = 9-11 mm). Introducing this coal into the sources for the company improved the coking parameters of the charge. Coal from the Barzass face is classified as grade KS. On technological and genetic properties (V =23.0-27.0 percent, Ro = 1.141), it is similar to a low-grade metamorphic coal. The ash content is high {Ad = 26-31 percent}, and the coal is partially oxidized (W = 2.25 percent); the yield of flotation concentrate in laboratory flotation is 10-78 percent; and there is some finely divided rock, with the sludge clayey. When this is introduced into the routine charge at the level of 8-10 percent, it adversely affects or blocks the operation of the gravitational separation, flotation, and disk vacuum filters. Yield of concentrate fraction 56.8 percent. To maintain the rhythm and performance of the dressing plant, it is recommended that the coal from the Barzass face should not be introduced into the routine charge. The economic parameters of the blast furnaces do not deteriorate when one uses coke involving the new coals from the Ul'yanov and Tomusino 5-6 pits and from the Barzass face (total proportion 8-9 percent). In the test periods, the consumption of coke was reduced by 0.7-1.3 kg/t of cast iron (0.15-0.30 percent).
