Ceramic IS art, a lasting expression as ancient and yet as vital as humankind itself. When prized clay shards are excavated from architectural digs around the globe, visions of former civilizations unfold. Whether produced by hand or machine, in no other medium is colour and design so well preserved over time, a clear reflection of the importance of fired clay in recording human achievement.
