Induction period has been measured for various supersaturated aqueous solutions of nickel sulphate heptahydrate doped separately with magnesium sulphate heptahydrate and zinc sulphate heptahydrate by the direct vision method. Various critical nucleation parameters have been calculated based on classical theory for homogeneous nucleation. The critical nucleation parameters decrease with the increase in concentration of ZnSO_4 centre dot 7H_2O doping but increase with the increase in concentration of MgSO_4 centre dot 7H_2O doping in the NiSO_4 centre dot 7H_2O solutions.
