Spectrophotometric determination of cadmium(II) and lead(II) using 5,5-dimethyl-1,3-cyclohexanedionebisthiosemicarbazone monohydrochloride

摘要

The reagent,5,5-dimethyl-1,3-cyelohcxanedione bisthiosemicarbazone monohydrochloride (5,5-DiMe-1,3-CHDT.HCl) gives orange red coloured complexes with cadmium(II) and lead(II) in ammonium chloride-ammonium hydroxide buffer medium.The molar absorptivities of cadmium and lead complexes respectively are 2.5 x 10~4 and 1.52 x 10~4 L mol~(-1) cm~(-1).These color reactions have been investigated to develop spectrophotometric methods for the determination of cadmium(II) and lead(II) in aqueous medium.The reagent is used for the determination of cadmium in biological samples.
