It has been shown by a number of investigatorsthat the thermometric method of fan testing gives results whichare in agreement with those obtained by the standard pressure-volume method. However, up to the present time, thethermometric technique has been confined to unsaturated airbecause of the complexity of isentropic pressure-temperaturerelationships in fogged air conditions. This paper undertakes athermodynamic analysis to investigate such relationships andshows that the thermometric method can be extended to fanspassing an air-water vapour liquid water mixture.
