摘要

Condition based maintenance reduces maintenance cost and enhances reliability of machine performance and quality of the output. In this paper, how to implement condition based maintenance system for a stochastically and continuously deteriorating single unit system, such as, diesel engine is discussed. The work is carried out in m/s Greaves Cotton Limited on 2.5 kVA diesel generator (DG) set. Vibration monitoring technique is used to know the state of the diesel engine which falls under the category of rotating machines. From the present state of the system, how to find out next inspection date is also discussed.
